Indian yellow-nosed albatross

Diomedea chlororhynchos bassi

It's the most common albatross living on the Amsterdam island.

Medium sized (74-86 cm), its wingspan reaches 2 meters.

It nests in the windy cliffs west of the island, in places where he can easily take off.

Like all the truly wild animals of the island, never having been hunted, this albatross is absolutely not afraid by men and it's often one of the first birds to welcome the boats coming to the island.
